Outlook – Setting up your email account1. Click the outlook icon
2. Select ‘Microsoft Exchange Server’
3. Click Next 4. Type ‘admin’ in the Microsoft Exchange Server field 5. Add your user name as indicated below
6. Click “Check Name” 7. Click “Next” 8. Then click “Finish” Further Outlook Help can be found on the ITS Website
Sharing Outlook Folders With Your TeamAdding Permissions 1. Right click “Mailbox” and select “Properties”.
2. Select the permissions tab then add the user(s) who need access to your mailbox and then 3. Select “Owner” as the permission level, and click ‘OK’. 4. Right click and select properties for other folders the user(s) needs access to e.g. “Inbox”, “Junk Email”, “Calender”. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for each folder you want to share.
Please note user(s) you assign these permissions to can view/delete items in the specified folders. Removing Permissions To remove permissions right click on the folder, select properties, permission tab, select the user name click remove.
##Changing Pheme password:When changing your Pheme password please make sure you don’t have any applications open besides Internet Explorer.
If you’re locked out of Pheme please call ITS on extension 2822 to reset. Please note you’ll be locked out of the network if you enter your old password after changing it, call ITS to reset.
##Internet Explorer: How to set your home page.The home page is the first web site displayed when Internet Explorer is opened. 1. Go to the website that should be the home page. 2. Navigate to Tools > Internet Options
3. Click “Use Current” button and then press “OK”
4. Close Internet Explorer then reopen and you’ll find the homepage has changed…
Adding a printer from the network: When you require another printer1. Click > Start > Settings > Printer and Faxes
2. Click “Add a printer”
3. Click “Next>”
4. Select “A network printer or printer attached to another computer”. Click “Next>”
5. Select “Connect to this printer ….”, type in the “Name” field \\printserv\ and then name of your printer. For example:
6. Select “Yes” to set as your default printer or “No” if this is a one off print job.
7. Click “Next>” and then click “Finish”
Changing default printer: All documents printed will go to the default printer.Navigate to ‘Start’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Printers and Faxes’
Right click on the printer you want as the default, and then left click ‘Set as Default Printer’.
Clearing print queue:Double clicking on a printer from the list above opens the below window. Right clicking on the document and select ‘Cancel’. Note it must be your document.
Quick launch taskbar:1. Enable quick launch bar by right clicking on the taskbar and select properties:
2. Check ‘Show Quick Launch’ and click OK
3. Alesco, TRIM, ESS password, Roster shortcuts are all located in ‘P:\common\Profile shortcuts’. Drag and drop the icons onto your quick launch bar.
4. Simply ‘drag and drop’ icons onto the quick launch bar from profile shortcuts folder.
Adjusting Screen Resolution:
2. This will open the display properties window select the ‘Settings’ tab and using the slider to increase or reduce the resolution, then click ‘Ok’ Don’t go pass 1024 X 768.
3. A message will ask whether or not you’d like to keep this setting. Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ depending if your happy with the change.
Office Templates:1. Open word and navigate to : ‘Tools’ > ‘Options’
2. Select the ‘File Locations’ tab and double click the ‘Workgroup templates’
3. Navigate and select P:\personnel\common\temp95
4. Navigate to File > New and on the left hand side of the screen under Templates click ‘On my computer’.
Forgot Your ESS password?
Step 1: Click on the “Forgot Your Password?” link Step 2: You will be prompted to enter your 8 digit Staff number. Click OK. Step 3: Answer the ‘secret question’. If the answer provided is correct then a message displays showing the email address that your password has been sent to. Please refresh or reload this screen. The ESS will prompt you to change your password the next time you log in (this only occurs when you use the ‘secret question’ facility).
Secret question*Navigation – ‘Change ESS Password’ Step 1: Enter a secret question that will be asked should you forget your password, and enter the answer to the secret question. A correctly answered secret question allows your password to be emailed to you. For this function to work your email address must be stored in ESS.
Email Address Maintenance*Navigation – ‘Your Details’ > ‘Personal’ > ‘Email Address Maintenance’
Please use a UWA e-mail address that has been given to you by your department/ITS, as your ESS password will be sent to this address if the secret question is answered correctly. Projector Setup1. Email hr_projector the date, time & place for the projector setup. 2. Setup can be done by the person presenting or HR systems. 3. Once presentation is complete ALL equipment must be packed in the correct bag etc. 4. Please wait until the fan stop running before you disconnect the main power on the projector.
Booking the Projector in Outlook The following outlines how to book the HR Projector in outlook – To place a booking for the projector/Laptop open outlook and navigate to
Type "hr_projector" & describe the purpose in the subject field and the location of the setup. Give as much detail as possible.
Select the date and time of presentation set a reminder minimum of 1 hour. Also type any other requirements, such as copying presentation to the laptop, internet/network access.
Crashed PC1. If no response after 5 mins from the keyboard and mouse hold the CTRL-ALT-DEL buttons. 2. A window appears, click on the button called ‘Task Manager’. 3. Select the program that’s displaying ‘Not responding’ or program you wish to stop. Click ‘End task’ 4. Wait until the program disappears from the program list and close Task Manager. 5. Sometimes you need to click another ‘End Task’ button that appears. 6. IF there is still no response, perform a manual shutdown by holding the power button on your PC for 5 Seconds.
