Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee Terms of Reference
1. To provide advice on the promotion of equal opportunity in employment and education with the University.
2. To monitor the practice of equal opportunity in the University and to report to Senate through the Vice-Chancellor on the development of appropriate policies in response to legislation and in the best interests of the principles of equity.
3. To consider and recommend on ways in which any present impediments to equality of opportunity might be removed.
4. To provide advice and support to the Equity Officer/s.
5. To report to Senate annually on the effectiveness of policies and programmes introduced to promote equality of opportunity.
Membership of the Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee
The membership of the Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee shall be as follows:
17 members (plus Secretary) Chair: Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost (Professor Alan Robson) Secretary: Mr Malcolm Fialho, Diversity Officer
Nominee of the Vice-Chancellor as chair Deans of the faculties or nominees National Tertiary Education Union nominees CPSU/CSA nominee Status of Women Group nominee Director of the Centre for Aboriginal Programs or nominee Nominee of the UWA Student Guild Postgraduate Students' Association nominee Manager, Equity and Diversity Director, Student Services Director (Invitee), Human Resources Senior Policy Analyst as invitee
