Leadership Development for Women Mentor Network

Further information

Leadership development for women (LDW)

A Mentor Network is part of the Leadership Development for Women (LDW) program.

Each participant in the Leadership Development for Women (LDW) program will have the opportunity to be matched with a more senior male or female staff member in the University, who will act as a mentor and provide advice and assistance to support their ongoing career development.

Mentors are chosen on the basis of specific needs and goals identified by each participant. The mentoring component of the program lasts for approximately nine months from the time participants are matched, and workshops are run for both mentees and mentors to help them make the most of their mentoring partnerships.

Career and mentoring strategies

At this session participants will explore their career and mentoring goals and needs, consider how mentoring can assist them, and begin to identify possible mentors.

Date: Wednesday 6 May 2015, 9.30am - 4.30pm

Venue: St.Catherine's College, Jull Common Room

Getting the most from your mentoring

A two-hour workshop is available for participants to review their mentoring partnerships once they have met with their mentor, and to consider how they can gain the most from the mentoring opportunity. The workshop will be run twice, and participants will be asked to register for one of these sessions once they have been matched with a mentor.

The sessions are expected to run on 3 September and 21 October 2015.

A separate workshop for new mentors will also be offered on 4 September 2015.
